		<description>I think this is valuable for grown-ups too! 

More importantly, I think if goal-setting and following up on them is  a family tradition, kids will learn it just by watching. Parents are incredible role models and every child wants to emulate his/her parents, especially at an early age. 

It may also be useful to differentiate between goals and expectations. Quite often, parents might have certain expectations from their kids and they might try to steer their child&#039;s goals towards their own expectations.  That may not always work out. 

A goal-driven life is also purpose-driven. When kids grow up in a purposeful family environment, goal-setting is no longer a forced activity. It happens quite naturally.
